Last Day

Well....today is my last day working in EON Bank. Today as well the oil price no longer RM1.92 per liter. Its now RM2.70 per liter.

I start my day as usual. But before I came to the office I drop by to the panel clinic for EON Bank nearby my house to take some cough medicine. I'm enjoying the medical benefit up to the last day of my employment.

I'm having a lunch retreat with all my team from security administration. We went to Pizza Hut. Only Salleh , Ee Ling and Cheah missing from the retreat. However, I would like to thank all of you for the retreat.

Just after having my lunch, I browse through ITTUTOR website. The hottest topic definitely the price of the petrol. I also posted my comments and opinion on it. Everyone was in angry mood. In fact, me myself already angry with the government decision since yesterday. The reason:

  1. Last few days PM said that don't believed all the rumors saying that the petrol price will rise. The government only planned to do it somewhere in August. Then all the sudden, the price go up. And to make things worst, it went up by 78 cents. The highest ever in Malaysia history. The situation is almost the same when the PM said about the general election. First he said that the parliament will continue, but he changed his mind the next day.

  2. The traffic was really bad yesterday since my house is located near 4 petrol stations. I went back home first and around 8.00 pm I went out to fill up the fuel. Unfortunately, the road in front of my house the car not moving at all. The traffic goes from bad to worst. As a conclusion, I failed to fill up the petrol with the RM1.92 price.

  3. Eventhough I will get extra money for my new jobs, looks like it will not make any much different.

Another interesting story inside ITTUTOR is about the Prime Minister Office official website being hacked. I thought it was true. But the fact, they just point it to other website by using the PMO officical website as the header. Here is the screen.

http://www.pmo.gov.my/website/webdbase.nsf/w_4?openForm&url=http://www.geocities.com/nmapx/manifesto.txt

If I point it like this, http://www.pmo.gov.my/website/webdbase.nsf/w_4?openForm&url=http://www.wanrulez.blogspot.com

it will also have the same header as the PMO official website. So don't get confused on it.

Last but not least, I have also terminated the credit card that I received as a staff for EON Bank. So, no more 10k credit limit. So, for now no more 10k credit limit. To all my friends who read this blog, wish me luck for the better future.

The moment......

This morning, when I arrived at the office straight away I went to see my boss about my resignation. I was supposed to informed her yesterday (Monday), but unfortunately I need to take emergency leave yesterday since my mother in law admitted to the hospital and nobody to take care of my baby.

Alright back to the point. I've told her that I'm leaving the bank soon. She was quite shocked by asking whether I have tender my resignation. I've told her that I have submit it last Friday and my last day will be on Thursday.
She asked me whether I'm receiving a better offer or just because I want to leave. I told her that I got a better offer. Then she started telling me that, she already discussed it with our big boss about my situation. And they planned to look at my confirmation letter first whether I received any adjustment upon my confirmation. If I didn't received any adjustment upon my confirmation, they planned to query HR about it (not sure whether its true or not......or just to make me feel better). But looks like its too late already. I've made up my mind and its time to move on. By the way, she planned to arrange for a farewell lunch this Thursday.

Then I've been told to delegate all the jobs and brief my colleague about the CTCS project status.
At the same time I went to Branch Processing Centre (BPC) and met with Head. He already knew that I'm leaving. We have a bit chit chat and he said its a loss for the bank. Wahhhhh....I felt really appreciated.

Around 3.00 pm I went to our Disaster Recovery Centre in Puchong. All the way, I have a chat with my colleague Tan. He told me that, my boss really hope that I can stay. And she also plan to try to counter the offer that I already received. I'm totally speechless . But I know that it is impossible since my big boss is on leave this whole week and considering the confirmation that I received from the HR one month after I got confirmed, I don't think HR can come up with the new offer in just 2 days to go. It's a miracle if that happens.

So that's how the story for today. Another story is that starting from today, I've sent my baby to a babysitter new Taman Melati. I'm so glad to found someone to take care of my baby. Actually my friends Hisham from EPF recommended me to send my baby to her since he sent his child to her last time.

Counting My Days

I have submit my resignation letter to the HR and Head of IT this evening.
So with that, my last day will be on Thursday (5th june 2008), exactly 7 months I've been here.
One thing that really make a difference between a one week notice and one month notice is the confirmation letter. Just after I submit the letter then I received my confirmation letter. Too bad that, HR already agreed with my one week notice. I'll tell my boss next week about this.

This morning, my boss called me up. We have some chit chat. First she told me that the EUC team will be deploying a new software to all 100++ branches somewhere in June. And the EUC team request someone from security to assist them. My boss assigned my for this task, meaning I have to travel to all branches. Nice one...But looks like she needs to find someone else.

Then, my boss asked about my current salary. Looks like she already smells something. Hahahaha.
She's pity with me since I didn't received any adjustment last time. The reason might be because I took some time for joining the bank about 2 months delay. Well, last time I'm waiting for the bonus and increment from SCAN first, then only I joined the bank. She also noticed that fresh graduates for the bank are earning RM2500 as the starting pay. Once they are confirmed they will get around RM2800 if I'm not mistake. Even my grade is the same with the fresh grads only that my salary is slightly higher.

Lastly, she asked me whether I have any friends interested to join the bank under the security team. She would prefer someone to have some skills on AS400 if possible. Our team really need more people to cope with all the projects. Talking about that, EON Bank will advertise all the vacancies in tomorrow The Star newspaper. Or you can just check the bank's official website.

Bon Voyage

Yes. I'm leaving. heheheheh.
I have agreed to accept the offer that i received. In fact I've done the medical checkup as well.
The offer is too good for me turn it down.
I received the salary exactly as what I'm expected of. Thank god.

So, tomorrow (Friday) I'll submit my resignation letter. But until now i haven't received the rest of my salary. Arghhhhh...RM900++ is a big amount of money.
I'm sure that tomorrow my boss will be shocked with the letter that I will pass to her.
Well....it's also your fault. Maybe this can be a good lesson for you. Next time, please give some respect to your staff and never questioning anything relating to religious issue.

If everything goes according to plan...I should start at the bank on 9th June 2008. That if my one week resignation is accepted. If not, then I've to wait for one month.

Good News

While waiting for my missing salary, which until today I haven't received it, I received a call on Saturday from one company calling for an interview session on Thursday (tomorrow). On Monday, I've already apply for leave. Today, I just received a call from one bank which I attended the first and second interview last month saying that I got the job. Since joining EON Bank, I have went to three interview plus another one tomorrow. Alhamdulillah. Thank GOD for all the blessings. Maybe this is rezeki for my new baby.

I'm yet to know how much they offer, but I will know it tomorrow. I'll collect the offer tomorrow and if I agree with all the terms, I need to do my medical checkup before I can join them.

By right, I need to give one month notice to EON Bank. However, even though I'm already a confirmed staff, I've yet to receive the confirmation letter. So, I can leave the Bank by giving one week notice. Hehehehehe.....I'll update later whether I accept or reject the offer. I'm sure if I tender my resignation, my boss will get angry and shocked with it. Hahahahha.....Don't care lah (this is the word that has always been used by my supervisor).

Salary

In EON Bank, we're supposed to receive our salary on the 25th every month.
Since this month, 25th fall on Sunday I have received my salary yesterday on the 23rd.
However, I was really shocked when I checked my account through internet banking that my salary short a few amounts.
If it just a few bucks I won't mind, but it was RM900++.
This is crazy.
This Monday I definitely will ask the HR and the payroll unit to check for it.
Argghhhh........
Can't wait for Monday, eventhough I usually hate Monday. But this time I have no choice.

The Double

Glory Glory Man United.

Yes. That was the song surrounding the Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow. Not Chelsea Chelsea.
Poor Chelsea. Again they get second best behind the almighty United.
With the triumph of the Champions League, meaning United have completed a double joy for this season – The Premiership and now the European Champions League.

A quick recap. Ronaldo open the score for United in 28th minute with a superb header from a cross from Wes Brown, even though using his left foot. Just before half time, Chelsea equalized through Frank Lampard thanks to a cheeky deflection from Vidic and Ferdinand. Overall, in the first half United were in total control even Tevez missed a couple of chances.

Second half Chelsea control the game and Drogba and Lampard both had a shot that hit the woodwork and the bar. Only in the last 10 minutes United had a glorious opportunity but Giggs shot was cleared on the line by Terry.

Extra time the game quite balance until Drogba was sent off for touching Vidic face. Then it went to penalty shootout. Just before the shootout start, I received sms from Nik Apis saying that now its up to the luck. I replied saying, just pray for it lah.

Tevez - Score

Ballack - Score

Carrick - Score

Balletti - Score

Ronaldo - Miss

Lampard - Score

Hargreaves - Score

A. Cole - Score

Nani - Score

Terry - Miss

Anderson - Score

Kalou - Score

Giggs - Score

Anelka - Miss

So John Terry, from hero to zero.

We have won it for the third time in United history. I received quite a number of sms from all my United Fan colleague. Not to forget, I did send some sms to the Chelsea fan. Again.....GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED.

Growing Up

By the time i write this post, my baby Wan Nur Adriana already 4.2kg on weight.
She's growing so fast....considering she was born with only 2kg and when she was discharged from the hospital with just 1.7kg. Here's some of the picture i took last night.

Pray to Allah the Almighty

Today, is the third day for one of my good friend doing his Chemotherapy.
All of us was shocked when we heard about the news when he was diagnosed with this

Embryonal carcinoma:

This type of nonseminoma germ cell cancer is present in about 40% of testicular tumors. Pure embryonal carcinomas occur only 3% to 4% of the time. When seen under a microscope, these tumors can look like tissues of very early embryos. This type of nonseminoma tends to grow rapidly and spread outside the testicle.

Since being admitted to the hospital and now for the chemotherapy, he has been writing his own blogs. And since then I've never missed reading his blog.
To you my friend Mohd Zairy Mohd Tamam or also known as Ciki, I'll pray for your health. Then you can start thinking of having futsal session together again.

HIS BLOG

We are the champion

One down and one to go.
We have successfully defended the English Premier League trophy again this year.
Now all sets for the European Champions League final against Chelsea in Moscow in 10 days time.
It will be a double heartbreak for Chelsea if they lost to us in the final.
In fact, there are some good news to the United camp. John Terry might be out for the final with dislocated shoulder injury.

Glory Glory Man United.

ASTRO from BAD to WORST

I've submitted this email to the sun newspaper.

Last Friday, when I came back from the office, I switched my ASTRO to channel 812 ESPN. Unfortunately is says that the channel is not in my subscription. Immediately I call ASTRO customer service and the customer service officer told me that they cannot access the system temporarily and promised to return my call once the system is OK. I keep on waiting but I haven't received any return call from them.

The next morning as early 8.00 am I gave them a call again. And this time they promised that my ASTRO should be OK in half an hour. After half an hour the problem yet to be solved and it started to pissed me off. I called them again and this time, they said I need to wait another one hour and they guarantee that the service will be OK. One hour later, the problem is yet to be solved. Again I called them, and this time they said I need to wait 24 hours for the service to be OK. What a stupid service provided by this ASTRO. They keep on promising and yet my ASTRO still facing the problem.

On Sunday, I call them again and this this they said they will try to solved it immediately but until now I still can't view my ASTRO. Even last night I need to watched my football match at mamak stall. Then what's the purpose of having ASTRO if I can't watch it at my own house? This ASTRO is now much terrible than before. Since receiving the new smartcard, I'm facing a lot of problem. First, my new smartcard got problem and I need to wait for one week to received the replacement card. Now, I can't even watched the channel that I subscribed to. And I've spent lot of my phone bills just to call them. What a stupid and terrible customer service.

Just that you are the only company that provide satellite service doesn't mean that you can treat your customer lightly. The government should take further action about it. What's the purpose of paying the bills if I can't watch it. And every time I need to call them with the problem yet to be solved and just to get speak with the customer service officer it took almost half an hour to get through the line.

Confirmation

Today 5 May 2008 means I've been working here in EON Bank for six months. Unofficially, I'm now a confirmed staff and just waiting for the official letter from HR. I've done the appraisal for confirmation last week and my score isn't too bad.
Now, I'm already entitled for the staff car loan at 4% monthly reduced. But I'm only looking forward for a staff housing loan at a rate of 3% per annum. Not bad huh.

Even though I'm already a confirmed staff, something still bothering me. After the bank announced the salary adjustment, the fresh graduates who joined the bank earning now earning almost the same salary with me who already have 4 years of experience. This is totally unfair and I would like to seek explanation from the HR today. Better that I rejoined again the bank. Hahahaha. If I managed to get some adjustment as well, then it would be a bonus for me. I pray for God on that and hope you guys pray for me as well.

We are in the final

Glory Glory Man United.

That's what I can say to my favorite team Manchester United for qualifying to the final of European Champions League. A superb strike from Paul Scholes outside the penalty area went straight at the top corner of Barcelona goal post. This has been the most awaited moments for all the fans all around the world since the last time United qualify for the final was back in 1999 in which they won the magnificent treble.Next, United will meet either Liverpool or Chelsea in Moscow for the final next month. I hope it would be Liverpool since that Liverpool records against United is really bad. Under the managerial of Rafa Benitez, Liverpool has never beat United in all competitions. Hahahaha.

Back to this morning story. I woke up around 2.40am this morning. Luckily the game hasn't started yet.I take a look at my daughter and she's also awake at that time. So, I just bring her to the hall and watch the game together. Hehehehe. Hopefully, when she grow up, she can accompany me for any Manchester United match.

Another Shocking News

Again, today HR release a new memo.
Well, it somehow might affecting me since last time, for unconfirmed staff we just need to give 24 hours notice. So far for today, still no good news for me.

Frustrated

Today, I just received a letter from HR. The title of the letter is New Grading Scheme.
Before that, I heard some of my friends who joined the bank same date like me got some increment on their basic salary. In fact, my friend received almost RM600 increment.

Unfortunately, when I received my letter, it doesn't states any increment at all. It just mentioned about my new grade. I was informed that my current salary is already exceeding the baseline for an executive. Oh.....too bad. Hmm...looks like next year only I will received my increment, but that depends on my appraisal.

Good News......maybe?

This morning, everybody in the bank were talking about a new salary and grading structure. I'm quite blurr at first. Then I open up the intranet and saw a memo from HR.

Even though it is a good news, but I'm not sure whether I'm entitled or not since I haven't confirmed yet. According to the memo, they will pay the arrears starting Jan 2008 until April 2008. But before that, they will send a letter to every person whose entitled for it by this month.

Well, I just have to wait and see for the outcome.

By the way, they will only pay all the arrears next month. Maybe by that time, I'm no longer here.Hahahahah. I haven't received any new offer yet. But I'm keeping my finger crossed and praying for my luck. Somehow, I think I can see some light in a dark tunnel. I'll update on it later since this this just my rough thinking..

Saturday 19/4/2008

Last Saturday, I bring my baby for her Hepatitis injection.

I'm so happy when being told by the doctor the weight of my baby right now is 3.2 kg.
One month ago when we went for BCG, her weight is just 2.3 kg. Meaning my baby already gained almost 1 kg of weight. No wonder my wife felt tired carrying her when while breastfeed.

Last Saturday as well, my uncle Ami Rahman came to our house to see our baby. It's almost 2 month but yet he hasn't seen her. I cooked nasi lemak and ayam goreng berempah while my wife prepared the sambal. He went back at around 4pm.

Then, me and wife went to look for a new wardrobe since our existing one could not cope anymore with the capacity. We spent about RM500 for the wardrobe. Then, I dropped by at a lighting shop. And I bought some lights and a remote fan. It cost about RM300. Fuhhh.....In one day we spent about RM800. We also planned to buy one electric thermos pot. Unfortunately, by that time the one that we are interested in is out of stock. Maybe I'll go to another shopping center tomorrow. It will cost us about RM260. Tonight maybe the electrician will come to put on our new lights and fan. Another charge for it. Hahahaha....altogether we're spending more than RM1000 in just a few days. It's not that we're having some bonus or increment, maybe that's some extra rezeki we have. Alhamdulillah.

First Anniversary

Today, 7 April 2008 is my first wedding anniversary. Today as well, my wife has completed 44 days of her “pantang”. This first anniversary is really special for me and wife since we'll be celebrating it with 3 person. Me, my wife and our lovely daughter. Supposed, today will be the day our daughter is expected to arrived into our life but she came out a bit earlier. Thank god for giving me a healthy and cute baby for us to celebrate this moment together. I plan to have some romantic dinner tonight.

For my wife, thank you so much for all that you have done to me throughout this one year. I really appreciate it. I couldn't ask for a better gift than our lovely daughter Wan Nur Adriana.

IIUM ALUMNI FUTSAL TOURNAMENT

This Saturday I'll be joining a futsal tournament organized by IIUM Alumni.
This is not the first time I've joined this tournament since last year me and my team already joined it.
Last year we name our team as Lauk United so that people think they can defeat us easily. In the end, we managed to take the 2nd runner up from 16 teams. Not bad huh. Besides that, our team also won the Fair Play Award. We received a pair of LINE7 jersey together with medal and not to forget the trophy for the Fair Play Award.

This year, its quite different. Last year there is no entrance fee. Meaning that it is totally sponsored by the ALUMNI. But this year we have to pay RM150 per team. Never mind. We still maintain the name of Lauk United and there are some changes in our line up. Our keepers has been changed since my friend John @ Johan still in Australia. Hope that if we can't maintain the 2nd runner up, at least to maintain the Fair Play Award. Thats our target for this year tournament. But who knows, maybe we can perform much better or worst since most of our team members are married and and some also have children. The issue of “pancit” might arise.

I'm Late

Today is the first time I'm late since joining EON Bank.
I arrived 5 minutes late which is 8.50 am.
Well, it wasn't too bad but it somehow affect my boss impression....I think.

Actually, yesterday I didn't got enough sleep. Forgot to mentioned that yesterday my baby and my wife already come back to our house. Usually I can only see my baby during weekend but now I can see her everyday.

Back to the reason on my lateness, this morning my baby woke up every one and a half hour. Even though I'm not the one giving her milk but still I'm awake from her loud voice crying. I also need to change the diaper at around 4 am this morning. Now I know how tired my wife is since I'm only facing this situation during weekend before.

The last time my baby woke up around 5.30 am. I have set my phone alarm at 6.30 am however I only woke up from my bed at around 7.30 am. I quickly take my bath and drive my car heading towards Terminal Putra LRT station. To make things worst, the train only arrived at 8.10am. From that moment I know I'll be late since it took 45 minutes to reach my office from Terminal Putra. I don't even have time for my breakfast today. Hopefully tomorrow I won't be late again. Hahahahah. After all, I'm glad I can help my wife.

Wan Nur Adriana

Totally Confused

It has been almost 5 months since I joined this bank.
Up till now, something still bothering me around.
I was assigned to report to my supervisor.
The problem is, there is always different opinion from my supervisor and my Unit Head.
Every time, I followed the order of my supervisor there will always be a change of mind from my Unit Head. Then, as a result I need to do it all over again. Argghh....it makes me really fed up with all this nonsense. Whose exactly should I listen to?
It seems like they don't communicate well between each other and I'm the one stuck in the middle.

Well, I have another month before my confirmation. I wonder I can still survive with all the conflicts surrounding. Only time will tells.

Back to my ordinary life...

Last Saturday, I'm having a “Cukur Jambul” event for my lovely daughter. I didn't make it too grand just a simple one with some Pulut Kuning. Now my daughter is totally bald. Hahahaha. Insyaallah I'll put some of photos tomorrow.

Arghhhhh

This Saturday, i'm planning to have some "Cukur Jambul" for my newborn baby.
Unfortunately, this morning my boss told me that i need to go to Puchong for our Disaster Recovery Center on this Saturday as well. They will move in all the hardware and equipment.
I was assigned since that nobody in our security administration team is around during that day.
Looks like only a little time left for me to play with my baby. One day only. DAMN. And i need to reschedule back my "Cukur Jambul" maybe to Sunday.

Eventhough i'll get a replacement leave, but i still can't take it on Monday since 2 person in my team also on leave on that day. Too bad for me.

This morning as well, my lunch mate just submit his resignation letter. Looks like i'll be having my lunch alone in 3 months time. Hmmm....maybe i should move on as well. Hahahahaha....
To you Anwar, wish you luck for your new job.

My Baby Girl

These are some of the pictures.
But the quality are quite bad since i'm just using my phone with 2.0 megapixel

Special Day......

On the 23rd Feb 2008, as planned i went to the Ampang Putri Hospital for my wife blood test.
There, beside checking the blood my wife need to do some urine test.
After the urine test my wife told me there are some blood comes out together with the urine.
I asked whether she felt any pain....but she felt no pain at all.

We then went back home. That day my wife looks really tired so i'm the one doing all the cooking.
I cooked "Kacang Panjang Masak Lemak Cili Api" and "sardin goreng cili api".Hehehehehe.
Not bad huh.....

Back to the blood issue, the blood keep on comes out in the afternoon and in the evening.
However the amount is just so little. And since that wife feels no pain at all we just ignored it.
Then we gave a call to my wife eldest sister and told everything about that.
She advised us to go to the hospital to check since this is our first baby.
I also give a call to my mother and told her about that. My mother mentioned that the doctor
might give my wife MC for 5 days just to relax.

So, without proper preparation we went to the Ampang Putri Hospital again to do some check up.
I was shocked near to death (hahahaha) when the nurse mentioned that my wife got some contraction
and need to be warded. Since i thought it just a normal warded and related to what being thought by
my mother i just went down to do the registration.
While waiting for my turn, i suddenly received a call that my wife need to go for emergency
caeser since that in between the contraction, the baby heartbeat keeps on dropping. I quickly
rushed to the operation room and then the doctor told me they have do do the operation quickly.
Too bad i can't joined together in the operation room.

About 15 minutes later one of the doctor (Dr Kumari) told me that my wife have safely delivered a
baby girl but the baby need to be put inside the incubator since it is premature and the baby
is just 2kg. I went to the nursery room to do the azan and iqamah but only from the incubator
door. I don't have the opportunity to hold my baby. Ohh....i feel so sad and the tears suddenly
comes out. About 10.50 pm my wife was taken out from the operation room.

So officially, i'm a father right now. We decided to name our daughter WAN NUR ADRIANA.
The date of birth is 23 February 2008 at 10.22pm.
I'll post the picture of my baby later since that i just snapped it using my phone camera.

My Planner

Well, today is Friday and as usual everyone love Friday since tomorrow is a holiday. To make it much better I'll be on leave as well next Monday.
Why? According to this Bank policy, every replacement leave that you entitled must be utilized within the same month. So my boss asked me to plan my leave. Actually, they will have another simulation test this weekend but I'm still not sure whether i still need to be around. My boss will give her decision today. The department that conduct the testing requires us (me and my colleague) to be around, but everything depends on our boss. If we do need to come, then i will have another Replacement to be utilize within this month. Hahahahha.

On Saturday, I'll be sending my wife to Ampang Putri Hospital to do her blood check. The doctor just want to conduct a test whether any problem with the glucose level inside her blood.

Next month-March.

3rd of March 2008, I'll be conducting the Security Awareness training for all Group IT staff. Fuhhh....This is a tough one since that i need to understand really well about the Bank's IT policy together with the BNM GPIS1.

5th of March 2008, means I've been here (EON Bank) for 4 months. 2 months to go before my confirmation.

7th of March 2008, I'll be attending a training at my previous company SCAN Associates on Thales Websentry Management Technical Course. Hope can meet my old friends there. But too bad by that time Azie and Niza won't be around anymore.

I think thats all for now. Stay tuned for more updates. Hahahahah

2007 Security Report

The Web Hacking Incidents Database 2007 reports that:

Key findings were:
  • 67% percent of the attacks in 2007 were "for profit" motivated. Ideological hacking came second.
  • With 20%, good old SQL injections dominated as the most common techniques used in the attacks. XSS finished 4th with 12 percent and the young and promising CSRF is still only seldom exploited out there and was included in the "others" group.
  • Over 44% percent of incidents were tied to non-commercial sites such as Government and Education. We assume that this is partially because incidents happen more in these organizations and partially because these organizations are more inclined to report attacks.
  • On the commercial side, internet-related organizations top the list. This group includes retail shops, comprising mostly e-commerce sites, media companies and pure internet services such as search engines and service providers. It seems that these companies do not compensate for the higher exposure they incur, with proper security procedures.
  • In incidents where records leaked or where stolen the average number of records affected was 6,000.
Another statistics shows that
the majority of critical vulnerabilities (20 of 28 flaws) found in 2007 in Internet Explorer were memory corruption issues, similar to 2006.

Lastly, comparing from year 2000 to 2007....last year the number of vulnerabilities reduced a bit. Well done.

P/s: Don't use IE...hahahhahha

Metasploit 3.1

Austin, Texas, January 28th, 2008 -- The Metasploit Project announced today the free, world-wide availability of version 3.1 of their exploit development and attack framework. The latest version features a graphical user interface, full support for the Windows platform, and over 450 modules, including 265 remote exploits. "Metasploit 3.1 consolidates a year of research and development, integrating ideas and code from some of the sharpest and most innovative folks in the security research community" said H D Moore, project manager. Moore is referring the numerous research projects that have lent code to the framework.

These projects include the METASM pure-ruby assembler developed by Yoann Guillot and Julien Tinnes, the "Hacking the iPhone" effort outlined in the Metasploit Blog, the Windows kernel-land payload staging system developed by Matt Miller, the heapLib browser exploitation library written by Alexander Sotirov, the Lorcon 802.11 raw transmit library created by Joshua Wright and Mike Kershaw, Scruby, the Ruby port of Philippe Biondi's Scapy project, developed by Sylvain Sarmejeanne, and a contextual encoding system for Metasploit payloads. "Contextual encoding breaks most forms of shellcode analysis by encoding a payload with a target-specific key" said I)ruid, author of the Uninformed Journal (volume 9) article and developer of the contextual encoding system included with Metasploit 3.1.

The graphical user interface is a major step forward for Metasploit users on the Windows platform. Development of this interface was driven by Fabrice Mourron and provides a wizard-based exploitation system, a graphical file and process browser for the Meterpreter payloads, and a multi-tab console interface. "The Metasploit GUI puts Windows users on the same footing as those running Unix by giving them access to a console interface to the framework" said H D Moore, who worked with Fabrice on the GUI project.

The latest incarnation of the framework includes a bristling arsenal of exploit modules that are sure to put a smile on the face of every information warrior. Notable exploits in the 3.1 release include a remote, unpatched kernel-land exploit for Novell Netware, written by toto, a series of 802.11 fuzzing modules that can spray the local airspace with malformed frames, taking out a wide swath of wireless-enabled devices, and a battery of exploits targeted at Borland's InterBase product line. "I found so many holes that I just gave up releasing all of them", said Ramon de Carvalho, founder of RISE Security, and Metasploit contributor.

"Metasploit continues to be an indispensable and reliable penetration testing framework for our modern era", says C. Wilson, a security engineer who uses Metasploit in his daily work. Metasploit is used by network security professionals to perform penetration tests, system administrators to verify patch installations, product vendors to perform regression testing, and security researchers world-wide. The framework is written in the Ruby programming language and includes components written in C and assembler.

Metasploit runs on all modern operating systems, including Linux, Windows, Mac OS X, and most flavors of BSD. Metasploit has been used on a wide range of hardware platforms, from massive Unix mainframes to the tiny Nokia n800 handheld. Users can access Metasploit using the tab-completing console interface, the Gtk GUI, the command line scripting interface, or the AJAX-enabled web interface. The Windows version of Metasploit includes all software dependencies and a selection of useful networking tools.

The latest version of the Metasploit Framework, as well as screen shots, video demonstrations, documentation and installation instructions for many platforms, can be found online at http://metasploit3.com/

p/s: I haven't try it since the internet connection in my office is really bad and i don't even have a chance to try any new tools.....ahhh........so frustrated

Road Bully

On my way back to my hometown in Ipoh, when we (me, my wife & my brother) reached the Kg Melayu Rasa, this bullshit driver try to overtook me from left in a one lane road.
I give that bas***d a horn and then this Indian guy stopped his car.
He then give signal for me to overtake him.

Starting from that, he's been following really near with high beam. Damn Bastard!!
At the same time my wife already frighten and worried.
I quickly dialled 999 to get some help.
Unfortunately.....i got a respond from the operator to call 103 and and asked for a nearby police station. Another bulls***. He mentioned that this 999 number will only reponds to emergency.
What the F**K? This is an emergency. I'm really pissed off with that guy. Is this how policemen should react?

Luckily, there's a road block just after that. I stopped my car and rushed to the police officer and told everything about that road bully. The car ran away quickly passed the road block. I managed to get the registration number of that car. It is WDQ 6010, a blue color iswara with P license.
So anyone who reads this blog, please be careful.

Happy CNY

Tomorrow will be the last day of working for this week.
Most of my officemate will be on leave tomorrow not to forget my boss as well.
The only person left in this security administration department is only me and Salleh.
Hahahaha....we can do whatever we want.

Last week i received about 13 pieces of mandarin oranges. On monday i received about 5 more and today i got another 7 pieces. Thats the advantage working with multiracial society.
Hahahahhaha.....

But something really pissed me off. Arghhhh...
Most of them are just chatting around today. The bosses just reading newspaper during office hour. I wonder whether we can do the same on the eve of Aidilfitr or Aidiladha. I don't think so....

Tomorrow i'll be going back to my hometown in Ipoh.
Hope the traffic isn't too bad. Maybe i'll go to Cameron Highlands on the next day. My wife want to go there before she delivered. Ngidam she said. Hahahahaha

Closing Soon......

Last week mark the end of my department in my previous company.
Starting with me......then followed by my boss and now my colleague Azie. She had submit her resignation letter. Hahahahaha....
I think this is the first time in the company history which everyone from the same department leaving the company. That's mean the end of HRD regime.

By the way, later on who will cover my previous duties? My ex boss duties? And now my colleague duties? Its really a burden for anyone employed to cover all those tasks.

To Azie, i wish you all the best for your new career. Please invite me if you have any futsal session. Insyaallah i will join.

Antenatal Class

Yesterday, me and my wife went for antenatal class at Concorde Hotel Shah Alam. This class was organized by Darul Ehsan Medical Centre (DEMC) together with ANMUM.
For a fees of RM90 per couple, i think it is really worth it since that price includes the breakfast, 2 tea break, lunch and some gift from ANMUM.
This class starts around 8.30am and finish around 5.00pm. Among the topic covered are normal and abnormal pregnancy, child care, breastfeeding, exercise and nutritions. Its really a good class for a first timer to be a father and mother. Many useful information we can get from there and breastfeeding is the one that i think really helps me and wife.
At the end of the class, they conduct a contest for every couples. It's called the perfect couple. And guess what, me and wife got the first prize for it and the prize is a pair of mickey and minnie mouse doll. Hahahahahah.....never mind.......we can keep it for my future newborn baby.
To those who will be a new father and mother, i suggest you guys go for this class. Akram, if you read this....you better go.

Finally, this friday i plan to bring my wife for a detail 3D scan. From this scan i can confirm the sex of my newborn baby. Chow

Cyber Law Workshop

Last friday 18 Jan, i was sent by EON to attend a workshop on Cyber Law.
The workshop was conducted by EC-Council.
The workshop is valued around RM1200 but i got i for free as complimentary.

At the same day, i was supposed to attend a meeting at Bank Negara but with short notice i was informed to go to the workshop.
Overall, the workshop more on reading since the speaker need to cover a lot of ACT such as Computer Crime Act, Digital Signature Act etc.

Since that i've already attend one workshop, the other conference on IT security which I was suppose to attend tomorrow (22/1/2008) at Mandarin Oriental Hotel has to be canceled. Too Bad. The title of the conference is : IS YOUR COMPANY READY FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF CYBER CRIMES. This conference was organized by gnsec.
Looks much interesting right? See the schedule below:

My Car

Well, this is my new car. Sorry not to put the real picture since that I haven't snap any of it and the internet here is quite slow. Silver in colour with automatic transmission and WQV9496 as the registration number.
I've put up the spoiler yesterday. I was thinking of putting the TRD one but in the end I choose to have the MYVI SE type spoiler. This spoiler itself cost about RM250 including the painting.
I've asked about the TRD bodykit and cost about RM1000 for whole front and rear bumper plus the side skirting together with the paint. Not so important as my newborn baby will be the main priority.
So far, for the car i've spend a total of almost RM1000 for the tinted, spoiler, air freshner, etc.
Quite a lot of money and yet I haven't received the difference from selling my previous car.
Now only 11 January 2008. Still have another 14 days before my payday. Haiyoooooo....

1 Achieved 2 to Go

Well, i have achieved one of my new year resolution which is to get a new car.
hehhehehehehhe.
What car is it?
Looks like we have to wait and see.
I've just finished up with the tinted last saturday. Now i'm waiting for the new spoiler to arrive.
Then only i will disclose what car is it. For the bodykit, we'll see about it.
i'm quite lucky that when i sold my previous car (Kelisa SE), i got about RM20k for the car, while my full settlement is just RM18,400. So i got about RM1600 extra to spend on my new car.
hehheheheh....
Now, i'm driving an automatic car, no more manual since driving manual in KL is quite crazy.
As for now, my speed limit always around 70km/h until i reach the first 1000 km.
In malay, people call it "dalam pantang".hahahahah
Stay tuned for more updates.

Congratulations

Selamat pengantin baru kepada bekas rakan rekerja, Zalizan yg telah selamat diijabkabul dgn yati (ex kumpulan feminin). Semoga berbahagia dan kekal ke anak cucu.

Harian Metro

3) Save extra money for my newborn baby

Last year resolution achievement:

1) Lose some weight - manage to lose 2kg
2) Look for a better job and better salary - accomplished
3) Get Married - accomplished
4) Settle my credit card debt - little bit to go ~RM200

As a summary, i think i have achieved most of last year target. we'll see the achievement for this year later.

Fire Drill

This morning, around 10.30 am the fire alarm started.
Everyone seems to be calm.
Then they made announcement to evacuate the building and assemble in front of the Grand Continental Hotel next to Menara EON.
Overall we took about 23 minutes to clear out the building.
Looks like ok right? But we are suppose to clear the whole building within 17 minutes.
Hahhahahhaa.....
So as a result we can consider the exercise failed.

By the way, this is my first experience with this exercise. Last time at SCAN Dilla was the fire warden for our floor. But I didn't have the chance and opportunity to see how will she do if they conduct the fire drill exercise. Hahahhahaa....so funny to think of it.

New Update

Its been sometimes since I last update my blog.
Last time I did mentioned that one of my best friend in SCAN is leaving the company.
Its no longer rumors as the person already leave.
To Najib, I wish you good luck in your new career.
Luckily I manages to see you on your last day at SCAN.

At this moment my baby is already 6 months old inside the womb.
Hehhehehe.....
Every day I can feel the baby kicking from inside my wife tummy.
The funniest thing is that it kicks really hard especially when my wife watch “Sehati Berdansa Show” on ASTRO RIA. Heheheheh.....maybe someday, he/she will be born as a dancer.

Back to my career. Last saturday in The Star newspaper there are advertisement on job opening for EON Bank. Of the position offered is Security Analyst. Same position as what i'm doing right now.

Maybe the new guy who join will sit next to my table. To anyone who would like to apply can send their resume to manpower@eonbank.com.my

Lastly, I would like to wish Selamat Hari Raya Aidiladha to all Muslim.

Everyone Leaving.....

It has been 1 month and 1 week since I left SCAN.

Since then, many of my colleague have also left the company.

First one was Bob....this week will be my ex boss and the latest one that I heard is one of my best friends in SCAN.

Who is he? Well.....only time will know.....whether it is a rumors or fact.

However, I wish you luck my friend. A family man always need to think of their family first (salary) not the environment. Eventhough you can't never find the same environment like SCAN but trust me, i'm sure you can slowly adapt to it. Hehehhehehe. Like myself.

Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday to you...
Happy Birthday to Sayang
Happy Birthday to you.

Today 3rd December 2007 is my wife 26 birthday.
Since yesterday is Sunday, we decided to celebrate it a day earlier. hehheheheh.
I bought her a cake and a handbag as a present. Not to forget a big hug and kiss.
I'll put up the picture later since i didn't bring my digital camera today and today also got a lot of testing need to be conducted here at EON Bank.

Last but not least, again Happy Birthday to my dear Farrah Nor.

Saturday 24/11/07

Last Saturday, I bring my wife for her monthly check up.
My wife is currently five months on her pregnancy. Only 4 months to go.

This time, for the first time ever, when I touched her stomach I can feel the movement.
Like the baby is punching from inside.
Hahahhaha....i really feel excited.

The doctor did mentioned about the sex of the baby but she can't really confirm it.
Hope that she's correct about it.

I'm planning to start buying some baby product this month.
At the same time, I still thinking what should I buy for my wife 26th birthday this 3rd Dec 2007.
Right now nothing pop up yet from my mind. Maybe because I haven't receive my salary yet.
Hahahahaha....4 days to go for my new salary.

Choices

It has been 2 weeks since i join EON.
A quick recap.....just before i join EON, i also got another offer from one of the financial institution.
I think i don't have to reveal it.
Eventhough the offer is RM100 extra, but after taking some time, I've decided to reject the offer.
Considering the location, RM100 doesn't make any much different.

I still remember on the last day of my employment.
Someone try to prevent me from leaving the company.
Its not that I'm not gratitude, just that i think it has happen before.
And the decision can easily change from one day to another day.
i guess my colleagues know about this issue.
Anyway thanks a lot to Hj Ramlan (I'm sure he's not reading this) for all his effort.

By the way, i have another 2 weeks to go before i receive my new salary.
ahhahahha......not to forget SCAN still owing me my 2 last day salary.
thanks to everyone who reads my blog.

Nice One

New Environment

Well, it has been 7 days in the new office. So far everything seems OK.
I was assigned under the Security Administration, Group IT.
Number of staff in the department just 5 including me.
I've been monitoring the honeynet, Snort, firewall and generating reports.

Last week, I met my colleague from my previous company (SCAN) – sufyan, liaw, RJ45 and Ansar. They are the team for the e-PKI.
The good thing is, i've been assigned to monitor them. Hahahah.Good one (can torture them).

The environment here, of course can't be compared to my previous company.
Miss my friends very much.

Last Working Days in SCAN

Well, tomorrow is my last day working in SCAN Associates after spending almost 2.5 years here.
Coincidently, tomorrow as well is the company open house.
Looks like a big farewell party for me.
Even the Deputy Prime Minister will come.
Oh.....i'm so touched.
hahahahahah

On Monday, i'll be reporting to the new office. Looking forward for a brighter prospect.
To all KRONI @ MT in SCAN, remember me always, forget me never.

Blood Donation

Yesterday, SCAN conducting a blood donation campaign.
Same as last year and previous year, i was one of the donor.

As a token of appreciation we receive a torchlight which also contains some toolbox sets.
not to forget the Mcdonalds.
hahahaha

Aidilfitri 1428 Hijrah

This year, for the first time i'm celebrating Aildilfitri as a husband together with my lovely wife.
Next year, insyaallah there will be three of us.
We have decided to celebrate it first at my wife hometown in Teluk Panglima Garang.
We went back there on Friday, the day before Hari Raya.
After zuhur prayer then only we went back to my hometown in Ipoh.
We stayed there from saturday till tuesday coz i need to get back to work on wednesday.

Me & my wife

Me, my wife and her family. Missing - Along, Agah & Dihir. Only Ateh and her husband available.

Festive Incentive

Today, SCAN give 0.5 months salary as a festive incentive.
Unfortunately, i did not received it since i already tender my resignation last week.
Too bad....hmm....maybe it is not my rezeki.
Hope for a better prospect at my new company.

Selamat Hari Raya

Toughest Decision

3rd October 2007 - i've made the toughest decision ever in my life.
I've sent the resignation letter by giving one month notice to the Head of Corporate Services of the company. I almost felt on tears when submitting it. OH GOD....

For almost 2.5 years working here, I have met and worked with many special people whose talent, passion, energy, dedication and sincerity in making SCAN a success company, I really admire it.

Before I leave, I would like to take the opportunity to seek forgiveness from each and every one in SCAN, if at any instances, direct or indirectly, intentional or unintentionally, I have offended you guys or hurt your feelings in any ways. As usual, please halal all the foods & drinks which at any instances were offered or some what offered to me. Last but not least if anyone of you guys getting married please send your card and Insyaallah I’ll try to attend it.

Thank you guys.....and the memory remains.....

Increment

Alhamdulillah....

This morning i received my annual increment.
To make it much better, i got it backdated starting from April.
Syukur....Thank God for the Rezeki this Ramadhan and the coming Eid Fitri.

Just as i received my increment, I've to make one of the toughest decision in my life.
what is it about?

Stay tuned for more updates later..

Another funny thing

This morning as well, i open up utusan online.
hahahha...
I thought that i was dreaming since it shows that today 12 Sept = 1 Ramadhan.
It was supposed to be 1 ramadhan tomorrow. Not today.
Haiyaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.....confusing maaa

FAM site H4ck3ed

This morning, i open the FAM site and guess what.....the site have been touched by someone.
See the image below. It states that the top scorer is Khairy Jamaluddin with 99 goals.
hahahhaha......

I think it was done by someone anti KJ. hahahaha

Terengganu : 30 Aug - 2 Sept 2007

Taking airasia ticket promotion, me and my wife went to Terengganu during the Merdeka celebration.
For a total cost of RM191.20 for a two return ticket for both of us....its worth it.
Our flight was supposed to be at 8.05pm and arrive around 8.55pm. However, as we've known Airasia, keep us waiting until 9.15pm to depart. One hour plus delay. Its terrible.
We arrived in KT airport around 10.05pm.
We checked in at Seri Malaysia Kuala Terengganu. The room is not too bad for RM130 per nite except it does not have any fridge.
Early in the morning next day, after having our breakfast we went to Pulau Kapas for a day trip since all the resorts and chalet are fully booked. It cost about RM55 per person, comprises of boat transfer and snorkeling equipment.
My wife......viewing the sea

Me with my snorkeling suit

Me and my wife

On the next day, we spent most of our time at Pasar kampung Payang for shopping.
We bought some t-shirt, keropok lekor, batik etc.....everything total up to almost RM800. Fuhhhhhh....
On Sunday we went back to KL taking flight at 8.20am. We went there with only one bag but when we return back we bring along three bags.hahahahaha......shopping maniac
