Hong Kong Trip Day 1 (16/2/2011)

At last, our most awaiting trip came to the picture. We have booked the flight last year during Air Asia promotion. During that time, when I first booked the destinations, my solely aim was definitely the Hong Kong Disneyland. I'm going with my wife, Adriana as well as my father and my mother.Our flight depart at 4.00 pm and should be arrived by 8.00 pm. However, the flight did arrived 30 minutes earlier and I was thinking of having some sightseeing that night after checked in to our hotel and after having our dinner. We are staying at Panda Hotel located at Tsuen Wan. Unfortunately, once we landed, in order to reclaim our baggage we need to take a train to another building. We need to pass through the immigration first (with a long queue) before we can reclaim the baggage. The distance between one checkpoint to other checkpoint is quite far.
We are not allowed to take any picture while at the immigration counter. I did snap one picture only to noticed that we are not allowed to. Hehehehe..Once we arrived, only myself, Adriana and my wife did not wear any sweater since our sweater was in our baggage. In fact, there are Hong Kong people asking, "don't you guys have any sweater?". I admit it was quite cold with the temperature 13 degrees. But we have no choice. Hehehehe...

It took us more than one hour to settle everything - immigration & baggage reclaim. Next, how to get to out hotel. Based on my survey before the trip, we can take a shuttle bus provided by the Hotel but it will took us some time as they come in certain time only. Next options, taxi which will cost us HKD100 per person. Another options, Limousin which will cost us HKD500 per car. We are thinking of taking the Limousin actually but we failed to find the exact location where to get one. In the end, while was still searching, we met Ahmad - a muslim pakistani which is a Hong Kong resident. He offered us to bring us to the hotel with just HKD250. He's actually provide some transport service. And he gave us special price since since we're muslim as well. Here's his detail:We can be considered lucky to meet with Ahmad and we have decided to hire him on the last day 18th February 2011 for our sightseeing.
We arrived at the hotel around 9.40pm and once checked in, we quickly cook the rice. Forgot to mentioned that my mother did bring the rice cooker together knowing that Hong Kong is not really easy to get Halal food. My wife cooked some sambal ikan bilis while my mother brings some Brahims Beef Kurma for my daughter Adriana.The hotel, eventhough is a four star hotel, it was not really big compare to four star hotel in Malaysia. In fact, there's not even any complimentary mineral water. The mineral water cost HKD60. Luckily we bring along some. Just after the dinner, we went for sleep to get some rest for next day - Disneyland. I'll update again on the Day 2.

1 Month.....

One month to go before my last day with the Bank. I'm so excited thinking about it.
Not that I'm not grateful with the bank which I has served closed to three years. It just I'm excited to earn my new salary there.

On top of that, I only left with two working days before our family trip.
We have been planning about it since last year. And today I just went to money changer to get some change.
Will update soon on my latest trip.

Big Boy Toy

Yesterday, I received my new toy.
I did asked on my FB on which one should I choose last time.
In the end, I decided to go for this:


Yes. Modenas GT 128 with blue color. Bearing the registration number WUV 5XX2.Blue is my favourite color which is why I choose this motor instead of Honda Wave 120. On top of that, with break disc at front and rear makes my choice even easier. On top of that, it also comes with tubeless tyre which the other choice lack of it.

With the purchase of the motorbike means, I have achieved one of my new year resolution.

Zakat Emas dan Perak

DALIL WAJIB ZAKAT

Firman Allah s.w.t:

"Dan orang-orang yang menyimpan emas dan perak dan tidak dibelanjakan pada jalan Allah (tidak mengeluarkan zakat), maka khabarkanlah kepada mereka dengan balasan azab seksa yang tidak terperi sakitnya (iaitu) pada hari dibakar emas dan perak (dan harta benda) itu dalam neraka jahanam lalu diselar dengannya dahi, rusuk serta belakang mereka (sambil dikatakan kepada mereka), inilah apa yang telah kamu simpan untuk diri kamu, oleh itu rasakan (azab dari) apa yang kamu simpan itu"

(Surah At-Taubah: 34-35)

Sabda Rasulullah s.a.w:

"Setiap pemilik emas dan perak yang tidak menunaikan haknya maka pada hari kiamat dijadikan kepingan lalu dibakar dalam api neraka kemudian diselar rusuk dan belakang mereka; setiap kali kepingan itu menjadi sejuk ia kembali dibakar semula pada hari yang kadarnya bersamaan dengan lima puluh ribu (50,000) tahun sehingga ia dihukum di antara hamba-hamba Allah maka dilihat jalannya sama ada ke syurga atau ke neraka".

KAEDAH KIRAAN ZAKAT EMAS & PERAK

Emas Perhiasan Wanita
Emas perhiasan wanita ialah emas yang dibeli atau digunakan sebagai perhiasan di badan. LZS (MAIS) mengambil kira kadar uruf emas bagi pemakaian perhiasan tersebut. Jika kadar pemakaian itu tidak mencapai atau melebihi kadar uruf, maka tidak wajiblah membayar zakat emas perhiasan tersebut. Kadar uruf emas di negeri Selangor ialah sebanyak 800 gram

Contoh:
(Timbangan emas x harga semasa x 2.5%)
900 gram x RM50 = RM45000 x 2.5% = RM1125

Emas Yang Disimpan
Bermaksud emas yang selain daripada perhiasan wanita yang dipakai di badan samaada dalam bentuk mata wang, simpanan, galian, peralatan rumah dan sebagainya.
Ia dikenakan zakat sebanyak 2.5% daripada jumlah yang ada sekiranya kadar yang dimiliki itu sama atau melebihi nisabnya iaitu 85 gram. Ia tidak sama dengan emas perhiasan yang dipakai. Nisab emas yang tidak dipakai ialah sebanyak 85 gram

Contoh:
Timbangan emas x harga semasa x 2.5%
90 gram x RM50 = RM4500 x 2.5% = RM112

Perak
Bagi logam perak, samaada dipakai sebagai barang perhiasan ataupun tidak (disimpan sebagai perhiasan di rumah), maka pengiraannya adalah berdasarkan nilai barang perak tersebut. Nisab bagi perak adalah sebanyak 595 gram atau lebih

Contoh:
800 gram perak x RM0.90(segram) x 2.5% = RM18

Postpone

Yesterday, i received a call from HR personnel of the Bank.
My request for an early release without penalty have been turned down.
Therefore......i need to serve my 3 months notice.

Meaning to say...instead of starting at new place on 1st March 2011, i can only start on 15th March 2011.
Good thing is, on March i will be receiving two salary from two different company.

New Year 2011

Maybe it's a bit late for me to wish happy new year 2011.

A quick recap of my last year resolution. I did achieve some of it.


1) Lose weight – failed I think. It seems that I gained a bit. arghhhhhhhhhhhh

2) Save extra money -achieved

3) Better pay – achieved unexpectedly. A right offer came and I accept it. Hopefully to start on 1/3/2011

4) Travel – achieved. Last year I did travel to Terengganu, Cherating, Penang. But no overseas trip.

5) Performing Solat eary. Not delaying it – achieved but not in total.
2) Buy a motorbike (depends on monthly commitment as well) – failed. I did not have the budget.
3) Proper records keeping (need to use back my basic accounting skills)- failed. I only mange to track it for a while. Think should not put this one this year. Definitely it will failed again.

So for this year:

1) 1) Lose weight – MUST put extra effort, control my food, do more exercise.

2) 2) Save extra money – I will contribute extra to my ASB and tabung haji. I guess I need to focus on gold investment right now

3) 3) Performing Solat eary. Not delaying it

4) 4) Travel – at least one oversea trip

5) 5) Buy a motorbike – my new workplace located in the golden triangle area. Public transport is quite far. I’ll try first driving there

6) 6) New family members perhaps. since Adriana nearly 3 years old

7) 7) Debt free especially on credit card

Resign

Yes. Don’t be surprised. I have tender my resignation with the Bank effective 17^th December 2010. However, I still need to give 3 months notice before I can start at the new place. Thank god they are far than willing to wait for me.

I did highlight that someone has been disrupting the harmony in the department and now to the Bank as a whole. After spending for about two and half year (as at 9/12/2010) and still counting till my last day I believe the time has come for me to move on. I hope my colleague will keep on fighting for it. Who knows, it may change some day. Insyaallah.

Back to my new offer, they are the one who approached me. I received a call from the section head back in end of October 2010. He’s asking me whether I’m interested to try for the available position in the organization. Nothing to lose, I accept his invitation.

A week later, HR staff from the organization calls me for an interview session and arrange for it on 4/11/2010. I was told there are three candidates for the interview. I didn’t put so much hope of being hired by the organization but Alhamdulillah, in the end it was meant for me. Considering the offer and all perks and benefits offered, it was really hard for me to turn it down. Though my current supervisor repeatedly asked me to consider again should the Bank counter offer.

However, taking into considerations all the factors and current situation, I think it would be better for me to move on and start a new chapter of my career. Sorry guys, I have to go. This is a great opportunity for me. Hopefully, we can still remain in touch. It has been a terrific time working with some of you.

Tentatively, I planned to start at the new place on 1/3/2010 but we’ll see whether I can get an early release for it.

Adriana First Movie Outing

Last Tuesday, it was a public holiday - Awal Muharram.

It was a last minute plan actually. Adriana was sleeping from 2.00 pm till 4.30 pm. Then I told my wife, why not we go for a movie.
Since we have never brought Adriana for any movies before.

We quickly went to MBO Galaxy Ampang. I loved to watch movie here since i can be guaranteed of the available tickets. If i went to other bigger cinema the chances might be 50 -50.
As i mentioned, we managed to get the tickets for show at 6.30 pm. By calculating the time of the movie it should be finish by 8.00 pm. Meaning i still have injury time for my maghrib prayer.
Forgot to mentioned, the movie was Rapunzel and it was a really entertaining and enjoy movie.

And guess what, Adriana manage to concentrate on the movie until the last 15 minutes. Here's a picture of her

Happy Birthday to You Dear

Tomorrow 3rd December is my wife 29th birthday.
Specially for the event which I'll be celebrate it tonight, I have booked a cake from Baker's Cottage.
Why I choose Baker's Cottage? Not Secret Recipe?
Well, both are just nearby my house. But Secret Recipe does not offer a medium size of cake compare to Baker's Cottage. Taking into consideration the number of people which will eat the cake later on.

The cake that I booked two days ago looks like this. It's a surprise actually for my wife, but I'm sure she didn't read this blog earlier. Hehehehe.
And the present, I better keep it to myself. Last but not least, Happy Birthday to You Farrah Nor Bt Nori. Love you.

Ibu Outstation

Yesterday, I was alone at house with Adriana since my wife went to JB. It can be considered as hectic day in my life. While having to take of Adriana, I also need to monitor the workers at our backyard as well as our frontyard. We did some minor renovations (not renovations actually, just do extra piping and some cement slapping).

And in any normal day, while my wife was around, it would be her job to do washing when Adriana having her poo. Yesterday, Adriana had a poo, not once but three times. I'm sure my wife will be laughing if she reads this.

Eventhough I was so tired yesterday, still I enjoy that moment. Adriana has been playing with her Teddy bear as well as her new bicycle. And some time, she sings all the songs she knew such as Ibu, Shahir (Kebahagiaan dlm perpisahan) and Balik Kampung.

Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri part 2

Okey let's continue with some updates.

Last Sunday, I was on my out with my wife and my daughter for our lunch. Heheheh.
We just went out for lunch since still in Raya mood and nothing to cook actually.

Coming back from our lunch, i noticed that the condition of both my Myvi front Tyre was very bad. I can see the thread of the Tyre. Actually, i did plan to changed it last time when i got the bonus. Unfortunately, we can just planned for it but everything will be determine by Allah.

Considering I'm quite broke this Aidilfitri i just swipe the plastic card totaling RM370. This month my expenses was far beyond my income. But the Tyre itself is critical so i have no choice to change it as soon as possible. Luckily, we didn't use Myvi on our trip to Ipoh -> Bukit Mertajam -> Kulim.


Well there goes my money. My car also want to have some new things on it. :)

Meanwhile, it's been a while that i planned to get Adriana a children telekung. She has been following us with Awahbat (Allahuakbar). Here's a picture of her with the new telekung. So cute.
