Hong Kong Trip Day 2 (17/2/2011) - Part 2

Once we went down from Ngong Ping, we took the MTR to Sunny Bay. From there we have to take special Disney train to Disnesland. The train was perfectly designed with Mickey windows, Mickey handheld and some Mickey statue. It surely was an amazing experience.

We reached Disneyland about 12.00 noon. Luckily we have pre booked the tickets earlier in Malaysia. So we just proceed to the Automatic Vending Machine. We have to put in the credit cards used to make the booking and it will automatically print it. Since my daughter still under 3 years old, there’s no entrance fee for her. Adult ticket cost HKD350 per person.

Once we entered the entrance (not the main entrance yet), all of us were too excited to take pictures. In fact we spent quite some time there. The journey starts at Main Street USA. We did watch how animation was done, drawing class etc.

And once we saw the souvenir shop we quickly went there. It’s a bit time wasting actually since in every land – Main Street, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland and Adventureland have the same souvenirs shop. Luckily we realized it. Better late than never. Hehehehehe.

The good thing inside the Disneyland was they allowed you to take pictures anywhere, even inside the souvenir shops.

While walking along, I did snap some other interesting pictures.
We also enjoyed the rides inside there.

These are some other pictures when we are at the Hong Kong Disneyland.

The most adventurous ride....Space Mountain:
The Mad Hatter - Tea Cups:

The Cinderella Carousel - I did take the ride as well. Last time I ride this thing maybe 20 years
ago. Hahahah

Last but not least, the Adventureland. This part was really enjoyable as we will be riding a boat and there's a tourist guide. We can choose the English guide or Chinese guide. Definitely we choosed the English guide.

There's also...some elephant which might get you wet, crocodile, Gorilla and Rhino. All of it just a fake one.

We went out from Disneyland about 7.00 pm and the weather was so cold and we can’t afford to stay longer. So missed out on the fireworks show.

Our next destination for the day – Ladies Market located in Mongkok. From Disneyland, we took the MTR back to Sunny Bay and switched to MTR going to Mongkok. From that station you have to take Exit E2 and just walk straight and you will see Ladies Market on your right.

During this time, Adriana was sleeping. In fact she has been sleeping since inside the MTR. So, I have to carry her around and have no chance at all to take any pictures. It almost the same like what we have here in Petaling Street. Basically, we just bought some t-shirts, and fridge magnet. But as most of other visitors wrote, the seller here was quite rude. So be careful once you already bargaining for any goods make sure you buy it. They can be a bit aggressive too.

Hong Kong Trip Day 2 (17/2/2011) - Part 1

On the next day, we went out from the hotel around 9.00 am to the nearest MTR station – Tai Wo Hau. Panda Hotel is in between two MTR stations which is Tsuen Wan and Tai Wo Hau. However, Tai Wo Hau is the nearest and just 7 minutes away walking.I’ve done some survey before coming to Hong Kong. Inside the Hong Kong Disneyland itself does not provide any Halal food. So, instead of going there early, we made some adjustment with our schedule. There are stories from other blogs recommending us to enter Disneyland after lunch.

So, from Tai Wo Hau MTR, we dropped by at Lai King and switched to Tung Chung line. It’s actually the same route to Disneyland it just that we go for a cable car ride first at Ngong Ping – not far from Tung Chung MTR station. To go to Disneyland, we need to stop at Sunny Bay. By the time we reach there, it was about 9.45 am and the cable car only operated at 10.00 am. One thing that really impressed me was their public transports especially their MTR system. The interchange station was well connected and we don’t have to walk too far away.

Forgot to mentioned, I did follow some advice given by fellow bloggers about the usage of Octopus Card. It really helps. It cost HKD 150 in which HKD50 is the deposit and HKD100 is the value. Once we don’t need it any more, we can return the card back and get refunded. And me myself, for the whole 3 days, I get a total of HKD 61 refund on my last day at the airport.

Back to our cable car ride, the weather was quite breezy and misty. We were informed earlier when we purchase the ticket. But it’s OK for us as we just want to take a look of the scenery and have our lunch there. We spent about two hour at Ngong Ping before going down and headed to Sunny Bay MTR Station.

As for our lunch, we went to Ebeneezer's Restaurant located on top of Ngong Ping. They served middle eastern and indian cuisine. I had Briyani with curry chicken there. From the top of Ngong Ping, we can actually see the sitting Buddha, the Hong Kong Airport and the entire Hong Kong actually.
